We are having another Saturday morning Choice Theory/Reality Therapy zoom meeting on Saturday 24th October from 10 am till 12pm. Due to the success of opening it up to all members last time, we have decided to have this as a regular monthly event.
This group has been running for many years and before lockdown we met face-to-face in Bury St Edmunds about 5 times a year on a Saturday morning. These groups have been invaluable over the years for support and to discuss how we use CT/RT in our work and lives. We are a group of about 20 people from a range of backgrounds who have a combined wealth of knowledge and experience. Some have completed the Basic Intensive Workshop, some are working through their Practicums and others are Certified or Faculty. It is a place to share, practice and develop our skills with other Choice Theorists/Reality Therapists.
Since March of this year, we have been meeting virtually, using zoom. Being on zoom has enabled us to open this group up to others in the CT/RT community who normally would not be able to attend.
Therefore, we are inviting you to join us if you are interested.
There is no prearranged agenda or formal structure to the meeting, but it flows so well. Some people who have recently attended courses/seminars often feedback and share their learning; others come with a question about a client/person they are working with. We might discuss a situation we were in, or how we can meet our needs during lock-down when some of our quality world pictures may have been more difficult to realise.
If you would like to attend, please let me know in by Wednesday 21st Oct so we have some idea of numbers as we will possibly need to set up breakout rooms so that everyone gets a chance to contribute.
All those who want to attend please email me, either through the website or directly. I will then send out the zoom link the day before.
Looking forward to seeing some of you there.
This is a virtual workshop delivered on zoom
This is a Basic Intensive Workshop delivered on line. It will be delivered in 11 sessions of 22 hours contact time plus 4 hours guided learning/ self-study hour. This is a 26-hour workshop (the equivalent of 4 days) in its own right but will also serve as the first of 5 modules in the Choice Theory and Reality Therapy Certification programme for those who are interested to progress to qualification.
Participants will learn:
· What really motivates young people and how to tap into this to support change
· How to help young people not only find solutions to presenting problems, but also identify and move beyond the underlying cause(s) – rather than continually deal with emotional/behavioural symptoms
· An approach that is cognitively behavioural in nature but with an action-led and holistic focus, that is informed by the Choice Theory Psychology, and can be readily integrated with many other approaches
· How to help young people evaluate their own behaviour and overall direction, and make more effective choices on a ‘want to’ basis
This is an on-line event (Zoom) due to COVID-19 restrictions
The event includes finding new ways to belong, resisting control, experimenting with fun, finding your wings, and living life to the full. The focus of the day will be on putting Choice Theory and Reality Therapy into practice with young people. Why young people need a different approach and how best to create it using Choice Theory Psychology.
